2026 Gala proceeds will help fund the historic Pine Street African Burial new “Memorial Monument”. The Pine Street African Burial Ground Memorial Monument will be unveiled at 157 Pine St, Kingston during our 2026 Juneteenth Ceremony and Celebration event in Kingston.
In December 2025, Harambee Kingston NY, Inc. received the official notice that the historic Pine Street African Burial Ground is now officially designated as an National Historic Landmark and will be in the Library of Records in Washington, DC. Thank you and congratulations to everyone who help to secure the land that led to this historic designation in perpetuity. Ase!
