Shaniqua Bowden (SB) is the founder and host of the Nubian Café on Radio Kingston, a discussion series which expresses the perspectives of women of color. By way of character, she is a teacher and creative being who loves to troubleshoot solutions for the impossible. Her purpose in life is helping others to conquer fear through creative thought and encouraging happiness through new experiences. She’s also a mama, a wife and Outreach Coordinator for the Kingston Land Trust.
Rashida Tyler is many things including a women’s advocate, tenant’s rights activist, community social justice leader, State Board Member at Citizen Action, and frequent collaborator on the Nubian Cafe at Radio Kingston. She’s someone who believes that government should work for the people and do more to know the people it represents. Today we talk about women supporting women, competition amongst women and partners, helping others, astrology, spirituality, motherhood, raising daughters, breaking apart systems, race and racism, getting out of our circles and comfort zones, the Nubian Cafe, the Kingston Land Trust, Citizen Action, and self care!
